Morning Calibration: Establishing Accuracy at the Source
The day in a modern wind tunnel laboratory begins long before experiments and projects actually take place. Engineers calibrate each airspeed probe to secure today’s accuracy. At the same time, pressure scanners undergo multi-point calibration routines. Windtuner probes and pressure scanners are calibrated in our wind tunnels accredited by CNAS, offering laboratories access to accurate and stable tools, saving them much time in this procedure. This calibration discipline will continue to follow every step for the rest of the day, safeguarding the quality of pressure data acquisition. With accuracy up to ±0.05% FS and 24-bit A/D resolution, our Ethernet Intelligent Pressure Scanner is an ideal tool for the rigorous project, and perfectionist researcher.
After calibration is finished, technicians then analyze the shape and attributes of the probes. They then mount five-hole or seven-hole probes inside the calibration wind tunnel, mapping the flow field surrounding the subject. Every sensor channel matters in probe geometry, as how well placed they are greatly affects research outcomes. Windtuner excels in probe customization, providing many more choices and more room for error in the placement of probes.
Midday Testing: Real-Time Coordinated Measurement
As specific airflow starts to steadily generate in the wind tunnel laboratory, pressure measurement systems get to work. Labs use many kinds of combinations of tools to achieve required synchronized data acquisition. Electric Actuators are used to position multi-hole probes through three-dimensional grids with controlled increments. Motion controllers execute predefined trajectories, and measurement and control software coordinates probe movement with pressure acquisition.
Windtuner Pressure Scanners have 16 Channels
Windtuner pressure scanners collect dry, non-corrosive gas data across their 16 channels, streaming results via TCP/IP or UDP protocols. We implement IEEE1588 time synchronization protocols to distribute data across systems. These scanners are efficient and intelligent enough to process real-time data such as velocity vectors, total pressure distributions, and flow angles. This becomes the basis and source for researchers to adjust and improve their products.
Integration is a key method to reduce setup complexity. That’s why we put much effort into developing Windtuner pressure scanners to directly connect with all kinds of pressure probes, and integrate data into different existing platforms. This way, you can keep the focus of the lab on better aerodynamic performance, not managing fragmented hardware.
Afternoon Analysis: From Raw Data to Flow Field Insight
After setup and measurement, it’s time to work on data analysis. What always needs improvement is the speed at which we analyze collected data. In a modern wind tunnel, measurement and control software convert raw pressure signals into visualized flow field maps or other forms. WindLabX is such a software we designed to fulfill this requirement. It transforms multi-channel inputs sent from pressure scanners, into structured visualizations that display data(including velocity magnitude, flow direction, and pressure contours) across defined planes on computers, where they are directly analyzed and put to use.
Windtuner is a provider of the entire set of pressure measurement solutions. Our probes, Ethernet Intelligent Pressure Scanners, Electric Actuators, and software work as a cohesive architecture. As we expand into the US and European markets, we hope to offer our clients an alternative method to improve their established systems while showing our strength in flexible customization.
Conclusion: Wind Tunnel Laboratory and Integrated Measurement System
Looking through a day in a modern wind tunnel lab, we can see that it operates upon an integrated system, calibration rigor, and accurate data acquisition. We rely on careful probe design, disciplined wind tunnel calibration, synchronized pressure scanning, and structural comprehensive analysis to help our clients make it through every test successfully.
Windtuner advances this model by combining customized multi-hole probes, pressure scanners with ±0.05% FS accuracy, and adaptable measurement and control software into a unified workflow. Inside today’s wind tunnel lab, performance no longer depends on isolated instruments. It depends on how precisely the entire system runs together.
